There is a shock in store for Ian, and Eddie hatches a plan.
Eddie invites Jim to join him and Joe for a first taste of the Tumble Tussock cider. Joe thinks it's a risk, but Eddie explains that people trust Jim's opinion. A good word from him will boost turkey sales. Unfortunately, the first barrel is a disappointment. Jim describes it as 'sickly and thin', and resists Eddie's attempt to get him to use a more favourable euphemism. To their surprise the second barrel turns out to be perfect. Jim immediately orders a turkey in order to procure a bottle. When Eddie tries the third barrel he declares it to be awful. However, once Jim has left he reveals that it was really the best of the three. But there's no harm in exaggerating the rarity value of Tumble Tussock.
Ian's excited about the fertility clinic appointment. But he discovers that he's unlikely to be able to father a child, even with IVF. It's a devastating blow, just when Ian was starting to believe he could actually have a baby of his own. Adam offers to become the biological father himself. But Ian assumes Adam's just trying to make him feel better. However, Adam urges him to take time to give the idea serious consideration. They both want this child now.
