麻豆社 Philharmonic live from Salford

Jiri Rozen conducts the 麻豆社 Philharmonic live in Dvorak's Serenade for Strings and Martinu's Sixth Symphony. Ashley Riches is the baritone in Mahler's Songs of a Wayfarer

Live from Salford's MediaCityUK, Conductor Jiri Rozen and the 麻豆社 Philharmonic perform Martinu's final symphony, his 'Fantaisies symphoniques', and one of Dvorak鈥檚 most popular orchestral works, his Serenade for Strings. They are joined by Ashley Riches for Mahler鈥檚 youthful song cycle, the Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen (Songs of a Wayfarer).

After this, Rumon Gamba conducts the 麻豆社 National Orchestra of Wales in Knight in Armour, the early tone poem of Ruth Gipps which was premiered at the Last Night of the Proms in 1942.
