She's called the Queen of Latin - she is three-time 鈥楤ritish Open to the World鈥� Latin American Champion, ten-time US Latin American Champion, and multiple-times British National Champion. By 21, Shirley had won nearly every major title she competed in worldwide. She is now one of the top Ballroom and Latin teachers and adjudicators in the world and is head judge on the 麻豆社鈥檚 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
Joining her are two people who have held that famous 'Strictly' Glitter Ball trophy. 2017 'Strictly' champion Joe McFadden and professional dancer Joanne Clifton, who, along with celebrity partner Ore Oduba, won the competition in 2016.
Joseph McFadden, though best known for his TV roles in 'Cranford', 'Heartbeat' and 'Holby City', is no stranger to musical theatre. He has appeared in 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang', 'Rent', 'She Loves Me' and 'How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying'. In this special show, he sings songs from the musicals and the great American songbook.
Joanne Clifton comes from a dancing family. She was taught dancing by her parents, former World Champions Keith and Judy Clifton, competing in her first competition at the age of just three years old with brother Kevin Clifton. She has many titles to her name, and left Strictly to pursue a career in musical theatre. She has since appeared in 'Thoroughly Modern Millie', 'Flashdance the Musical' and 'Top Hat'.
With Shirley at the helm much of tonight鈥檚 music has a Latin feel and the 麻豆社 Concert Orchestra, conducted by Keith Lockhart, perform Mambo Jambo, El Cumbanchero, Soul Bossa Nova and Brazil.
