Illusions, unification and a crimson sea
Tom Service with music by Hawar Tawfiq, Linas Baltas, Rebecca Saunders and Pauline Oliveros. Plus, Robert Worby interviews Jennifer Walshe.
Tom Service presents cutting-edge new music recorded in concert, featuring a work by Linas Baltas based on scientific research that has discovered a range of paradoxes 鈥 or illusions 鈥 showing that the way people hear even simple musical patterns can differ strikingly. The 麻豆社 Symphony Orchestra perform Hawar Tawfiq鈥檚 Unificazione, a piece in celebration of the Unification of Europe and there is a chance to hear Rebecca Saunders鈥 CRIMSON: Molly's Song 1, a piece that meditates on images from Molly Bloom's monologue at the end of James Joyce鈥檚 Ulysses. Plus Robert Worby interviews Irish composer, improviser and vocalist Jennifer Walshe.
