Helen has a change of heart and Tom struggles to understand the world around him.
The thought gremlins are creeping in for Natasha. Her mum鈥檚 reported her dad鈥檚 having a big clear out at home, and she feels sorry for her while being grateful that she herself isn鈥檛 there. She goes over events in her childhood around her dad鈥檚 bipolar condition. She鈥檚 surprised by Tom鈥檚 message that he鈥檒l be home at six and cheered at his suggestion of a call to her parents. It鈥檚 quite a turnaround; Helen must have spoken to him.
Tom鈥檚 confused by some of Natasha鈥檚 business decisions. He wants to cheer her up but wonders if he鈥檒l ever understand her. He chuckles at Joy鈥檚 comparison of Tony to Yul Brynner. Pat wants him to keep his hat on in public. Tom feels like everyone鈥檚 losing their minds except him. Later he begins to see Natasha鈥檚 point of view. It must be hard for her being so far from her parents. He decides to make an evening of it with Helen鈥檚 gifts of cheese and wine.
Helen鈥檚 loved meeting Lee across a river bank. It made her feel almost normal. She鈥檚 still battling with obtaining milk bottles though, and Tom鈥檚 hounding her about her radio interview. She鈥檚 enjoyed a chat with Natasha. It makes her realise how she鈥檚 usually reticent about letting people in 鈥揳nd that she needs to care less what people think about her past. She resolves to do the interview with Susan.
