Winston Graham鈥檚 novel set in Cornwall continues the story of the passions of the Poldark family and their friends, neighbours, rivals and enemies.
All this takes place in 1812 against a backdrop of England鈥檚 continuing military campaign against Napoleon鈥檚 army in Spain and Portugal
A world which seems so far away from the pressing concerns of Cornish life and which nevertheless beckons Ross Poldark to attend to his duties in parliament as an MP.
Abridged by Jill Waters and Isobel Creed.
