Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor chats exclusively to Matt Everitt revealing the pivotal moments and songs that have shaped his life and career.
Slipknot have assaulted the senses of audiences around the world with their aggressive musical style, terrifying masks, and chaotic, energetic live shows since the late 90s.
As one of the most successful heavy metal groups of their generation they have claimed six Top 40 singles and four Top 5 albums in the UK, including a Number 1 with 鈥業owa鈥 in 2001, which denied The Strokes鈥 debut album 鈥楾his Is It鈥 of the top spot. Eighteen years later, in 2019, their album 鈥榃e Are Not Your Kind鈥 topped the charts. To date Slipknot have sold over 30 million albums worldwide.
In this interview Matt peels back the mask as Corey talks about his turbulent early life growing up in a trailer in the Mid-West of America, the moment he decided to join the world鈥檚 most nightmare-inducing band, his battles with addiction, and his deep love for the music of Faith No More, Prince, Public Enemy and Ray Lamontagne.
First broadcast in 2021.
