Lee struggles to keep a secret and Shula faces a potentially tricky situation

Alice hopes to see Banjo, maybe even ride him out. Shula lays out carefully her two conditions 鈥 that Banjo will be safe, and that Alice hasn鈥檛 been drinking. She leaves the judgement call with Alice. Alice decides she鈥檒l just groom Banjo for now. Shula admires her natural affinity with horses. She reassures her that things won鈥檛 be like this forever 鈥 especially now Alice is making a positive step by accepting rehab. Alice declares she can鈥檛 picture rehab working, so what鈥檚 the point? Shula reminds Alice of a time when she calmed a nervy horse, and that she鈥檚 still that same determined little girl who doesn鈥檛 give up. This gives Alice pause for thought.
Lee鈥檚 at Honeysuckle Cottage for beer and pizza. He starts to ask Adam how he is after last week, and Adam hastily covers, diverting the conversation. Lee cottons on that Adam hasn鈥檛 told Ian about his run in with Brian. He brightly changes the subject to Adam鈥檚 upcoming birthday, leading Ian to joke that Adam will spend it at work 鈥 his obsession. Ian goes on to share an idea he has about starting his own business. Adam can鈥檛 hide his alarm, warning it鈥檚 a bad time to take such a risk. Lee鈥檚 put on the spot when they ask him his opinion. When he comes down diplomatically on Adam鈥檚 side, Ian鈥檚 huffy. Later Adam informs Lee that Brian鈥檚 sacked him. He begs Lee not to tell Ian. Shocked Lee counsels Adam to fight for whatever he wants. But it needs to be on his terms, not Brian鈥檚 or anyone else鈥檚.
