Peggy offers more than money can buy, and Oliver鈥檚 plan backfires.

Eddie has high hopes for his cider at the upcoming Flower and Produce Show. Oliver鈥檚 not sure Eddie鈥檚 approach to winning the Freda Fry Cup by nobbling prospective entrants is a good one. But Eddie鈥檚 worried he won鈥檛 win if he doesn鈥檛 take out the opposition. In fact, he鈥檇 like Oliver鈥檚 help to persuade the Bull not to enter their hanging baskets. Oliver鈥檚 sceptical, while Eddie reckons all it needs is a subtle hard luck story 鈥 from Oliver. But Oliver鈥檚 attempt backfires when Kenton and Jolene regale him with their own tale of woe about lockdown and hard times. The hanging baskets might shine a bit of light for the Bull. Oliver decides not to pursue his own sob story.

Pat and Peggy chat about how strange it will be without Shula and Jennifer entering the Flower and Produce Show. Peggy鈥檚 still regretting her actions in not telling Jennifer sooner about Alice鈥檚 problems. They鈥檙e hardly speaking and she misses her.

Later, Jennifer admits to Pat she feels she should have noticed the signs with Alice sooner. Pat assures her it鈥檚 never that simple. When Jennifer comments that Peggy鈥檚 made things worse, Pat suggests it might be time to heal those wounds.

Jennifer visits Peggy, and a thaw begins, though Jennifer can鈥檛 forget what happened. Peggy gives her daughter a treasured old prayer card she got from the hospital caring for Jack Archer more than sixty years ago. Jennifer鈥檚 touched. Peggy was grateful to the chaplain who gave her the card 鈥 it鈥檚 much better to talk than keep things hidden away.
