Mark is in Dundee visiting Cox’s Stack- a huge chimney that was part the city’s vast jute industry. He’s joined by Dr Moses Jenkins who has just written a book about Scotland’s Tall Chimneys and tells him about these impressive relics.

As we approach Burns night, Euan reflects on the poet’s love for wildlife and thinks about some of the poems he wrote on the subject.

The island of South Georgia is a British Overseas Territory in the Southern Atlantic Ocean. We’re joined live by Sarah Lurcock from the South Georgia Heritage Trust that manages the South Georgia Museum, which is reopening after being closed due to the pandemic. We find out who visits this very remote museum and what it’s like living on South Georgia.

Euan meets William Martin, the inventor of the ‘rewilding stick’, an adapted metal walking stick which can be used to plant seeds of native trees, such as Scots pine and oak, directly into rough ground. He shows Euan how it works.

Written at Ellisland Farm near Dumfries and one of Robert Burns’ most famous poems, the epic Tam O’ Shanter is a favourite worldwide. Mark turns his hand to reciting the two hundred and twenty odd lines that Burns apparently wrote in one day.

Mark visits Greyhope Bay in Aberdeen where work is well underway to create a purpose-built visitor centre dedicated to dolphin watching. He hears that the finished project will also be home to a viewing area, cafe and education space.
