David fears for the future, while Ed is surprised by a sudden change of heart.
After hearing about how often Fallon and Harrison go out, Emma feels she and Ed are really boring in comparison. She asks George what he thinks and gets the unsurprising answer: they are both dull as ditch water. George doesn鈥檛 accept any of Ed鈥檚 reasons for not going out and tells Emma she鈥檚 always moaning about something. They find George rude but ultimately accept what he鈥檚 saying.
Emma reflects that she鈥檚 been complaining about the logs lying around on the rewilding site because it really bothers her that they are not being put to use. Ed鈥檚 surprised to hear that Emma has come round to Eddie鈥檚 suggestion that they should steal the logs 鈥 she justifies it by declaring that it would be for a good cause, helping people to keep warm. Emma thinks it鈥檚 time they did something completely unpredictable. Ed thinks this change in Emma is exciting and agrees to her plan.
David鈥檚 not looking forward to being busy with barn bookings up to Christmas. Ruth鈥檚 just grateful for the income. Ben plucks up the courage to tell his parents that he鈥檇 had suicidal thoughts. He didn鈥檛 want to tell them at the time because he felt like he was letting them down. He sees now that he shouldn鈥檛 have bottled up his feelings. Ruth impresses on Ben that they love and care for him however busy they seem. Later, David despairs that Ben wasn鈥檛 able to come to him and Ruth when he was at his lowest. Ruth affirms they have to make Ben their number one priority.
