The Aldridges are all at sea, and Stella finds herself out of the loop.

Frail Brian鈥檚 alone in his bedroom, ignoring his calls. Adam can鈥檛 persuade him downstairs. Tony and Lilian comfort one another. Lilian thanks Tony for breaking the news to Peggy. Tony confirms Peggy鈥檚 staying at Bridge Farm for now. Lilian observes their mum is looking small, her spirit drained away. The siblings agree it鈥檚 every parent鈥檚 worst nightmare to lose a child. Lilian鈥檚 brought back Jennifer鈥檚 belongings from the hotel. She couldn鈥檛 bear the thought of them being packed up by someone else. The others appreciate how hard this must have been, but Lilian says it gave her something to do. Adam hugs her. Alice can鈥檛 get in touch with Ruairi 鈥 she just hopes he鈥檒l listen to his messages.
Tony goes upstairs to Brian, and makes the mistake of sitting where Jennifer usually sat. Brian snaps at him, before confessing he鈥檚 pleased Ruairi hasn鈥檛 yet had the news. He鈥檚 lucky 鈥 he can carry on a bit longer thinking Jennifer鈥檚 alive. Tony鈥檚 attempts at kind words aren鈥檛 met well, and Brian leaves the cottage. Adam goes after him, but not before Brian鈥檚 waylaid by Stella. Adam swiftly updates her, requesting space for the family. Sympathetic Stella confirms she鈥檒l take care of the farm.
Alice collects Martha from Chris, taking comfort from her and appreciating Chris鈥檚 attentive kindness. She reassures him she knows what to do if she feels tempted to drink. She鈥檚 very worried Ruairi still doesn鈥檛 know what鈥檚 happened. She doesn鈥檛 have an address for him, though she鈥檚 sure she could find it. Chris offers to drive her to London tonight.
