Is Brookfield coming under attack? Clarrie and Susan are swotting up.
Clarrie鈥檚 not liking the new window in the Bridge Farm dairy at all. Susan soothes her. They鈥檒l get used to it and it will be good for business. She suggests they have a practice with the microphone, and poses Clarrie some sample questions. Clarrie gets flustered and can鈥檛 answer any of them. They swap places 鈥 Susan will show Clarrie how it鈥檚 done. However Susan doesn鈥檛 do much better at the hands of Clarrie鈥檚 questioning. Clarrie鈥檚 smug, but Susan reckons it鈥檒l be fine when they鈥檙e doing it for real.
Ruth and David have their hands full 鈥 a lamb鈥檚 had a dog bite, and Ben鈥檚 deserted his B&B duties in favour of visiting Sykesy. Things go from bad to worse when Ben returns to break the news there鈥檚 a disturbance at the entrance to the farm. It鈥檚 a demonstration against the EV charging station, led by Jim. The placards read 鈥楽top the Brookfield car park鈥 and 鈥楤rookfield collusion concretes countryside鈥. David lays into Jim, while Ben tries in vain to mediate. David calls the police, who won鈥檛 attend unless they break the law. Jim maintains the protest is peaceful, and David notes they鈥檙e being careful not to trespass. Jim鈥檚 called the press. Ben suggests they let him have his publicity photo and then he鈥檒l go, but David doesn鈥檛 want Brookfield鈥檚 name dragged through the mud. He moves a stack of bales between Jim鈥檚 protest spot and the farmhouse, ensuring the house is protected from view and Jim won鈥檛 get his picture. Jim promises David he hasn鈥檛 heard the last of this.
