Edi’s guest is Peter Howson, one of the most brilliant figurative artists of our time. Talking to Edi ahead of ‘When the apple ripens: Peter Howson at 65’, a major retrospective of his work, at the Edinburgh Art Centre, the artist reflects on accomplishments and turmoil in an extraordinary life. In this remarkable, wide ranging programme, he talks about the comfort of art but the bullying it caused when he was a child, how Asperger’s syndrome has affected his life and his work and whether he has yet achieved any masterpieces.
