Southern Heat: Crofton Park
In the third heat, Muhsin Yesilada, Maia Tassalini, Limahl Germain, Alfie Packham and Frankie Thompson perform a set for a place in the final of the 麻豆社 New Comedy Awards.
We head to sunny south London and the remarkable Rivoli Ballrooms, a world-famous venue that鈥檚 dripping in original vintage d茅cor. Designed by Henley Attwater in 1913, it鈥檚 one of the last 1950s style ballrooms in the country. Five brand new acts take to the stage in front of a packed house of more than two hundred comedy lovers.
Award-winning comedian Laura Smyth is the host, and joining her are the three judges 鈥 Mexican-born stand-up Lara Ricote, Motherland writer Holly Walsh and head judge, Babatunde Aleshe.
Muhsin Yesilada, Maia Tassalini, Limahl Germain, Alfie Packham and Frankie Thompson each perform their set before the judges decide who will go through to the grand final. There can only be one winner, so who will it be?
