Bryn Terfel in Belshazzar鈥檚 Feast

The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir & Orchestra perform Walton's Belshazzar's Feast, Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto and Nautilus by Anna Meredith with conductor Adam Hickox

In October 1931, William Walton took a huge choir and a giant orchestra, added a couple of brass bands, and blasted British music sky-high. Belshazzar鈥檚 Feast is big, brassy, and utterly outrageous 鈥 now add the one and only Sir Bryn Terfel, and you鈥檝e got a seriously impressive celebration of the human voice. Anna Meredith鈥檚 Nautilus and Mendelssohn's gorgeous Violin Concerto 鈥 with international violin sensation Ning Feng returning as soloist 鈥 are the icing on the cake.

Recorded at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on 9th November 2024.

Presented by Penny Gore.
