There鈥檚 a Christmas Eve surprise in Ambridge, and Brian is not amused.

Stressed Kenton still needs Mick to move his motor home. But Mick has a surprise for him in the Bull car park, which he says will help trade. He鈥檚 turned his van into Santa鈥檚 Grotto, with assistance from Joy. Kenton can鈥檛 help being impressed
Kenton marvels as Mick, not the most natural Santa, entertains the kids. The location of the grotto momentarily reminds Kenton of where he was attacked, and he updates Joy on the infamous Markie. Joy reflects on the car accident in which she could have died; it鈥檚 time to live in the present. She shares her plans to propose to Mick on Christmas Day. Kenton needs to keep it quiet though. He offers congratulations, but then panics as a large truck arrives. He鈥檇 forgotten he鈥檇 booked it to tow Mick鈥檚 motor home away! He rushes to intercept it.
Kate ushes people into St Stephen鈥檚 for the choir concert. Alan鈥檚 grateful to Jakob for playing the organ at tonight鈥檚 midnight service. Flustered Brian demands to talk to Alan about his concert tickets, which he realises he overpaid for. With Eddie implicated, Alan improvises and explains that Brian has bought a VIP ticket and will get a goodie bag. Later as Brian approaches, Alan鈥檚 nervous. But Brian is absolutely bowled over and entranced by the occasion and the beautiful music from the choir. He鈥檚 delighted with his goodie bag, containing cider and knitted ferrets. Kate admits her dad鈥檚 full of surprises, as the choir starts up for one final, particularly poignant, number.
