Wrestling in Ballymoney, Back to Uni and Children鈥檚 Writer Paddy Donnelly

Wrestling in Ballymoney, a new U-S society at Queens and children鈥檚 writer and illustrator Paddy Donnelly.

Helen Mark presents 麻豆社 Radio Ulster鈥檚 weekly Ulster-Scots magazine show this week alongside Rab Lennox and Willie Hill. Illustrating the diversity of the programme, this edition goes from the sublime to the ridiculous! First up, Jane Rea meets Paddy Donnelly, a writer and illustrator of children鈥檚 books often inspired by what surrounded him growing up on the north coast.
Next, the team is joined by Jay Basra, a student at Queens who has set up the university鈥檚 first UIster-Scots society. Then 鈥揳 change of pace 鈥揜ab meets the team behind 鈥淪tay True Wrestling鈥 who host events in Ballymoney 鈥 and even feature a wrestler from 鈥榯he toon鈥. Who鈥檇 have thought you鈥檇 hear heavy metal and bodies being slammed on Kintra?

As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email - kintra@bbc.co.uk.
