Christopher's 1939 novel, 鈥楪oodbye Berlin鈥, based on his experiences living in Jazz Age Germany, inspired the 1951 stage play 鈥業 Am a Camera鈥, and the musical and film, 鈥楥abaret鈥.
He died aged 81 in 1986.
