Kasia Pietrzko Trio in concert
Soweto shares highlights from a recent performance by the Polish pianist Kasia Pietrzko.
鈥楻ound Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades.
On this Friday鈥檚 edition of 鈥楻ound Midnight, Soweto presents session highlights from the award-winning Polish pianist Kasia Pietrzko and her trio, recorded live at the NDR Studio in Hamburg late last year.
A rising star in the Polish jazz scene, Kasia has found fans in leading jazz artists including American pianist Aaron Parks, and she also worked with the late Polish trumpeter Tomasz Stanko. Her third album 鈥淔ragile Ego鈥� was released in 2023, accompanied by bassist Andrzej 艢wi臋s and drummer Piotr Budniak.
We will hear some of Kasia's compositions from 鈥淔ragile Ego鈥� in tonight鈥檚 programme.
