This week on Classical Live, we have music inspired by artwork including Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition performed by the 麻豆社 Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Ludovic Morlot, music based on a memorial exhibition of paintings and watercolors by his friend, the Russian artist and architect Viktor Hartmann.
Mark also has a spotlight on the Danish national baroque orchestra Concerto Copenhagen. Today, we hear them perform Johann Balthasar Erben's Sonata sopra ut, re, mi, fa, sol for 2 violins and continuo. Elsewhere, violinist Esther Hoppe, cellist Christian Polt茅ra and pianist Ronald Brautigam perform Schubert's passionate and profound Piano Trio No. 2 in E flat.
