Five years ago, Mary Bourke鈥檚 husband had a stroke - and she immediately became his carer. It鈥檚 a job no one wants - and one that comes with no formal training, and very little support. Guilt, isolation, toilets, and endless, endless admin - welcome to the day-to-day reality of being a carer. There are more than 5 million carers in the UK - but who cares for the carers?
Through a mixture of interviews and stand-up comedy, comedian and carer Mary Bourke investigates, with the help of friends and fellow comedians with caring responsibilities.
In episode three, Mary learns about the professional care system from Pope Lonergan (comedian and care worker) and Michael Akadiri (comedian and junior doctor).
