For the very best in traditional music, join Gary Innes for Take the Floor. We have a great compilation programme lined up for you, featuring some of your favourite and most-loved Scottish dance bands.
Highly regarded accordion tutor and multi- talented musician Keith Dickson joins Gary to chat about his career ahead of his award from The National Association of Accordion and Fiddle Clubs.
We also highlight two fantastic upcoming events.
Locharbriggs Community Hall in Dumfries will soon be the site of a special concert celebrating the compositions of Ian Holmes. Ian wrote over 500 tunes, many of which feature regularly in our band sessions. Ian's daughter Mhorag joins Gary on the programme to tell us more about her father's compositions and his wishes to make them available to all musicians. The concert is taking place on Sunday 22 June 2025.
Keith Festival is also coming upon us fast, taking place in the north east town of Keith from 13 to 15 June. This year, it is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and Gary is joined by the festival chair, Bethany Carstairs, to tell us more about their big plans.
