The canticles are sung to the set composed for Knaresborough Parish Church in North Yorkshire by Simon Lindley, who died earlier this year, and who for 41 years from 1975 was organist at Leeds Parish Church. In this the week when the Church marks the feast of St Peter the apostle, the anthem is Palestrina鈥檚 鈥楾u es Petrus鈥, and the service opens with Durufl茅鈥檚 setting of the same text: 鈥榊ou are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church鈥.
