Linton Stephens showcases the best performances by 麻豆社 orchestras, choirs, ensembles and other great performing groups from Europe and around the globe.

This week on Classical Live, we will hear music inspired by the Arts including Berlioz's Harold in Italy performed by 麻豆社 National Orchestra of Wales and conductor Jonathan Bloxham. This symphonic poem is based on Byron's "Childe Harold's Pilgrimage," which depicts a melancholy wanderer's experiences in Italy. Additionally we will hear Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, recomposed by Max Richter and Debussy's Pr茅lude 脿 l'apr猫s-midi d'un faune.

Elsewhere, there's chamber music from sold out concerts at the Hay Festival, recorded exclusively for 麻豆社 Radio 3 in May this year. Today pianist Danny Driver performs Ravel's impressionistic Gaspard de la Nuit and the Mithras Trio will play one of Germaine Tailleferre's most famous works, her Piano Trio.
