Verity Sharp handpicks a selection of new releases, and journeys into the dense thickets of experimental sound. There she finds Lebanese vocalist Julia Sabra singing into the cavernous concrete of Tripoli鈥檚 unfinished domed theatre, encounters gamelan-infused percussion from Australian drummer Will Guthrie and his Nantes-based ensemble Nist-Nah, and tunes into ancient frequencies with Monasunne, who reawaken Anglo-Saxon poetry in its original Old English.

Plus, a mutant reassembly of early Iranian piano recordings from Siavash Amini, caustic rap from Nyege Nyege affiliates MC Yallah and Debmaster, and some futuristic folk from Swiss micro-choir, Alice.
