Throughout the summer we鈥檒l be hearing some fo highlights from this year鈥檚 麻豆社 Proms. Today鈥檚 selection includes Giacomo Puccini's opera Suor Angelica sung by Carolina L贸pez Moreno, Kseniia Nikolaieva, Elena Zilio, Angela Schisano, Sarah Dufresne and Monika-Evelin Liiv with the Tiffin Choir and London Symphony Chorus joining London Symphony Orchestra and conductor Sir Antonio Pappano. There's also Tchaikovsky's lyrical second Piano Concerto performed by pianist Bruce Liu with the Philharmonia Orchestra and conductor Santtu-Matias Rouvali.
Plus, there are highlights from the Scottish capital, with summer music making from the Edinburgh International Festival. Today Henry Purcell's Funeral Sentences are sung by the Monteverdi Choir with the English Baroque Soloists conducted by Jonathan Sells, and the Belcea Quartet play Beethoven's F major String Quartet from his series of "late quartets".
