Linton Stephens showcases highlights from the Proms and from the Cheltenham Festival In today's programme, the 麻豆社 Symphony Orchestra and conductor Dalia Stasevska perform Henryk Go虂recki鈥檚 鈥楽ymphony of Sorrowful Songs鈥� which translates loss and pain into sound. Violinist Joshua Bell joins the orchestra for the UK premier of Thomas de Hartmann's Violin Concerto plus we will hear Ottorino Respighi鈥檚 warmly expansive reworking of an organ chorale prelude by J. S. Bach.

Elsewhere, performances from the recent Cheltenham Music Festival including former Radio 3 New Generation Artist, pianist Giorgi Gigashvili, performing from Felix Mendelssohn's collection of Songs Without Words.
