Episode 2
Every ounce of Scottish football, from the SPFL to the Sunday league ringers. It means everything, it means nothing, and this is the view of the fans on the terrace.
With managerial comings and goings on the agenda, this week’s Terrace is dominated by discussion of managerial madness, and why we all love being on the crazy merry-go-round with them.
Being a manager is a ridiculous job, and those who do it are prone to some cringe-inducing meltdowns. Russell Martin’s ill-fated Rangers tenure gives a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘parking the bus’, while later in the show we look at our favourite managerial meltdowns in Scottish football from the recent past. Why do people put themselves through this?
The panel also deep dives into the evergreen issue of youth development, and where our next big stars are going to come from. We look at the new era of cooperation agreements, and we ask whether our top academy prospects being plundered by megaclubs from down south is good or bad for our game.
With international football on the fixture card this week, all eyes domestically turn to the lower leagues and SWPL. We preview the big games coming up this weekend, from a Championship title battle that never was, a Highland League title battle that definitely might be, to an SWPL title battle that certainly is.
And as ever, we finish with The Banker. After opening up an early lead in week one, can Craig G Telfer hold his nerve, or will his bottle crash louder than the Hearts TV commentators celebrating Craig Halkett’s Edinburgh derby winner last weekend?
