鈥楻ound Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades.
From Monday to Thursday this week, Soweto is joined by South London saxophonist Venna as his 4/4 guest. Venna has become well-known nationally and internationally for his melodic tone and genre-transcending compositions. He has worked with artists including Yussef Dayes, Rocco Palladino, Beyonc茅 and Burna Boy 鈥� a contribution that earned him a Grammy award as part of Burna Boy鈥檚 album 鈥淭wice As Tall鈥� in 2020.
Venna recently released his debut full-length album 鈥淢ALIK鈥�. This week he is sharing four records that he admires and give us insight into his musical world. Tonight Venna chooses a composition that has influenced generations of jazz musicians.
