Throughout the week, Elizabeth Alker introduces an afternoon of compelling performances from the 麻豆社 Scottish Symphony Orchestra in their 90th anniversary year and shines a spotlight on violin concertos of the Romantic era. There鈥檚 also music from Sweden, including recitals by Piotr Anderszewski, the Swedish Radio Choir and the 2025 Change Music Festival.

On today鈥檚 Classical Live the 麻豆社 Scottish Symphony Orchestra performs Schumann鈥檚 Second Symphony with conductor Ryan Wigglesworth, and Prokofiev鈥檚 Autumnal Sketch and Sixth Symphony with conductor Mihhail Gerts.

The final Romantic Violin Concerto this week is Tchaikovsky鈥檚 beloved Violin Concerto performed by Vadim Gluzman; other performances today will include further highlights from Piotr Anderszewski鈥檚 piano recital at the 2025 Change Music Festival.
