Electrifying jazz from composer and pianist Hiromi

Tom Service with the perfect classical soundtrack! The astounding pianist Hiromi performs an exclusive session, plus live music from ZRI and Tom chats to composer Errollyn Wallen.

Tom Service with guests, stories and the perfect classical soundtrack to start the weekend!

The astounding Japanese jazz composer and pianist Hiromi performs an exclusive session in the Saturday Morning studio. Known for her dazzling technique and boundless love of music, Hiromi chats to Tom about learning classical and jazz together as a child, how she gets to know all 88 notes on a piano equally and why Chopin can always swing.

Composer Errollyn Wallen talks about writing a brand new advent carol she's rescued from deep within the archives and her eventful year as Master of the King's Music.

Plus there's live music from the ensemble ZRI - their Cellar Sessions project is inspired by the cellar at The Red Hedgehog tavern in 19th-century Vienna, where musicians from all scenes would meet after hours, drink wine and blur the boundaries between folk and classical traditions. They bring a slice of that spirit to Saturday Morning!
