Roddy Woomble talks about Idlewild's upcoming gigs and the band's current self-titled album, and broadcaster and writer Tom Service talks about his new book.

Best-selling writer and illustrator of the Charlie and Lola picture book series, Lauren Child, joins Len to talk about World Illustration Day and her new Charlie and Lola Christmas book, 'I Am Wishing Every Minute for Christmas.' They also discuss the importance of engagement with picture books in early years, how Charlie and Lola first originated, her process of illustration, and love of Quentin Blake.

Author and 麻豆社 presenter Tom Service鈥檚 book, A History of the World in 50 Pieces, explores how music and sound have changed our world through 50 pieces he has selected across classical, folk and world traditions, even whale sounds, so he and Len delve into his book, discussing the importance of including women composers and creators, how some pieces which have become part of our culture came to be because of the stories around them as much as the pieces themselves, and what music means to us socially and culturally.

Roddy Woomble talks about going out to perform with Idlewild again as the band celebrate their 30th anniversary, headlining the Glasgow Barrowlands for the tenth time, performing at a new venue in Dundee, writing songs for the new self-titled album and why they have finally called their tenth album Idlewild, and we hear the lead single from the album.
