Created by The Good Life writers John Esmonde and Bob Larbey, the show found Penelope and Peter鈥檚 characters watching on in bemusement and frustration as Richard Briers鈥� maddening central character, Martin, went through a series self-inflicted meltdowns that were agony for him, but comedy gold for viewers of the day.
