Emma makes a decision, and Jazzer is surprisingly unwilling.
When Jolene comments to Eddie that the Bull will be keeping things low-key for Burns Night this year, he鈥檚 adamant they go as big as they like on it. There鈥檚 been enough misery already. Frazzled Jazzer isn鈥檛 receptive to Jolene鈥檚 request for his help with making it an event. He鈥檚 too tired. He鈥檚 sorry but the answer鈥檚 no. Later Jolene acknowledges Jazzer has a lot on. For his part Jazzer sympathises with Jolene鈥檚 worry over Markie鈥檚 gang and what they might do.
Will鈥檚 got George a lot of new stuff for his homecoming. Emma questions whether indulging George like this is really the right thing to do. It鈥檚 this sort of thing that landed them in this position in the first place. Just because he nearly died doesn鈥檛 mean everything鈥檚 forgiven. Will disagrees. They nearly lost their son, and now he wants to forget everything that鈥檚 happened.
Eddie refuses to go with Emma and Ed to welcome George home. He reckons he doesn鈥檛 know George any more. He鈥檚 glad he鈥檚 alright, but he鈥檚 crossed a line and Eddie can鈥檛 forgive him. Will鈥檚 not happy with Eddie鈥檚 decision, but Emma admits she can see his point. They鈥檝e got it badly wrong, lying and covering for George. They鈥檙e too soft on him, and he鈥檚 spoilt. Their guilt about the past has made them bury their heads. George takes up so much headspace, there鈥檚 no room for Keira and Poppy. If he鈥檚 really going to learn from his mistakes, they all need to take a step back.
