Welsh Treasure

Adam Walton discovers Welsh archaeological treasures at the Museum of Liverpool.

Adam Walton discovers Welsh archaeological treasures at the Museum of Liverpool's latest exhibition, Treasure: History Unearthed. It's a collaboration between several institutions including Museum Wales and showcases 5000 years of history.

Curator of Regional and Community Archaeology, Vanessa Oakden, gives Adam the tour.

Lead Curator, Elsa Price, introduces him to the Mold Cape, a ceremonial Bronze Age garment made from solid sheet-gold.

We also hear part of a song about the Mold Cape by Singer/Songwriter, Edie Brickell, and the Actor, Comedian and Banjo Player, Steve Martin.

Finds Liaison Officer, Heather Beeton, explains how treasure is discovered and recorded through the Portable Antiquities Scheme.

Plus, we take a trip to meet Paleobiologist, Dr Tim Astrop, who leads us around Brymbo Fossil Forest in Wrexham, a site of special scientific interest.

Produced by Stuart Russell.
