The Echo Chamber - Tony Harrison
Daljit Nagra selects The Echo Chamber - Tony Harrison as the poet reads his poem set in Delphi, Greece. With Paul Farley.
Poet Daljit Nagra revisits the Â鶹Éç's poetry archive and selects The Echo Chamber - Tony Harrison. Best known for his poem V, Harrison was a leading British poet and playwright from Yorkshire, and we broadcast the programme to mark his recent passing. The Echo Chamber is presented by Paul Farley, who has been nominated for this year's prestigious T.S Eliot Award - winner to be announced on 19th January 2026. Plus, Daljit reads from his Poetry Extra Book of the Month: Woman: Plant: Language by Agata Maslowska.
Paul Farley hears Tony Harrison read a long poem called Polygons - a poem set in Delphi in Greece, that richly draws together many of the poetic preoccupations of his life: Greek tragedy, the wild landscapes of ancient human sacred sites, the deaths and passing of poetic mates, and the comforts of water and of wine.
