The first stirrings of spring⦠with Zakia
Sounds to welcome the light in - Zakia pulls out some hopeful selections for Imbolc, as well as a Dreambience mix from Liverpool-based composer Dialect.
DJ, broadcaster, writer and dreamer Zakia Sewell provides the soundtrack to your dreams - playing music to ease the mind, soothe the soul, and open portals to new dimensionsβ¦
Celebrate the first stirrings of spring with Zakia and some sounds to welcome in the light for Imbolc, the ancient festival that marks the return of the sun and new life. Halfway between the winter solstice and spring equinox, Imbolc is a Gaelic tradition associated with Saint Brigid of Ireland. Zakia marks the occasion with some Pagan post-punk, Celtic harp, psychedelic folk, medieval drones and more. Thereβs plenty of musical icons, including Dolly Parton, Peggy Seeger and T. Rex, as well as new releases from ZENA, Gregory Uhlmann and Green-House.
Also, we travel to the realms of Liverpool-based composer and musician Dialect, who takes us on a Dreambience journey through a hall of mirrors in sound.
