Sélène Saint-Aimé in concert

Soweto has performance highlights from the French bassist and vocalist and her trio.

‘Round Midnight is presented by award-winning saxophonist Soweto Kinch. This weekday late-night show celebrates the thriving UK jazz scene and spotlights the best new music alongside incredible acts from past decades.

Tonight, Soweto presents concert highlights from explorative French double bassist and vocalist Sélène Saint-Aimé and her string trio, recorded live at Austria’s Glatt & Verkehrt festival last summer. Sélène’s compositions explore the musical traditions of the African diaspora, informed by recent travels and residencies in Senegal, New Orleans, and to her paternal Martinique. This concert marked a performance debut with her string trio, featuring viola player Maëlle Desbrosses and cellist and Bruno Ducret.
