Knife crime: Fighting for change after Ronan Kanda鈥檚 death
Ronan Kanda's family discuss knife culture, loss, and the law named after him.
When 16-year-old Ronan Kanda was stabbed to death outside his home in Wolverhampton, his family鈥檚 world changed forever. His killers, who were also British Asian, were teenagers from the same school. But despite their pain, his mum, Pooja, and sister, Nikita, channelled their grief into action, campaigning against knife crime and calling for tougher laws. Last year, their efforts led to Ronan鈥檚 Law, tightening online knife sales, but their fight for change isn't over. In this episode, they share their memories of Ronan and the impact of his loss, and discuss the challenges of turning personal pain into a public campaign.
