Go Jauntly with Hana Sutch in London

Clare Balding heads to Brockley and Ladywell for a leafy London wander with Hana Sutch, co-founder of the walking app Go Jauntly.

Clare Balding heads to Brockley and Ladywell for a leafy London wander with Hana Sutch, co founder of the walking app Go Jauntly. Growing up in a family that didn鈥檛 walk for pleasure, Hana discovered the joy of rambling in her twenties, when a visit to her husband鈥檚 native Northumberland showed her the calming power of putting one foot in front of the other. Later, as a new parent in the city, she struggled to find accessible green spaces - an experience that inspired her to create Go Jauntly, now an award winning app that enables walkers to navigate walks simply, including by following images of landmarks.

As they walk, Hana discusses the challenges of building a start up as a of a small team of four, including big players in the field telling her she would never succeed.

The route they take is a four mile urban circular, starting in Ladywell. Trying to avoid main roads as much as possible, they go up and around Hilly Fields, down to Ladywell Fields and onto Blythe Hill before ending the walk within Brockley and Ladywell Cemeteries. You can find out more at www.gojauntly.com, and download from the app store on your phone. The walk Hana and Clare did together will go live on the app when the programme is broadcast.
