The Xudum pride’s mums and young cubs flee south as four dangerous intruder male lions close in, threatening to kill cubs and take over the pride. Dominant males Big Toe and Madumo are found mating with another pride, and the annual flood blocks the mums’ escape route, leaving the lionesses to face the intruders alone.

For Pobe the cheetah, the pressure is on to provide for her family, but as one of the Okavango’s underdogs, she must defend every meal from bigger cats. Leopard mum Lediba has no choice but to leave her cubs alone while she hunts, despite the sinister presence of an unknown male.
