A Broughshane legend and musician/writer Stephen Hall

A Broughshane legend and musician/writer Stephen Hall.

Helen Mark MBE presents 麻豆社 Radio Ulster鈥檚 weekly Ulster-Scots magazine this week alongside Rab Lennox, Jonnie Crawford and Willie Hill. Helen spends time in a hardware store in Broughshane with James McNeill who is marking a remarkable 70 years of working in the village. She hears about an incredible career (still going strong) and gets a feel for just how Jame鈥檚 shop has become a community hub. Meanwhile, Willie meets up with Stephen Hall who acknowledges an anniversary of his own 鈥 thirty years since the publication of his 鈥淭he Giant's Causeway Storybook鈥. He talks about that 鈥 as well as his music and poetry. Jonnie also finds out about Kintra presenter Jane Rea鈥檚 new TV series 鈥 鈥楯ane Rea鈥檚 Bloomin鈥 Wild鈥 鈥 a unique 鈥榖ehind the scenes鈥 guide to life working her Co. Antrim farm across the seasons.
As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email 鈥 helen.mark@bbc.co.uk
