Kate Molleson follows Sibelius in the creation of his Sixth and Seventh Symphonies - and also the Eighth which the composer destroyed. These works were not only composed during a period of unrest for Finland, during and after World War One, but also a period of increasing uncertainty for Sibelius himself in terms of his health, and also his financial security.
