Main content

Two quarrelling sisters come to Bear to help break their cycle of constant bickering and put-downs. But these city girls are in for a shock when it comes to surviving in the wild.

Big sister Ayan is tired of her younger sister Hani’s attitude. Since childhood, Ayan has felt that she has taken on more responsibility – and more work – as the eldest girl in a large Somali Muslim family. But now they are adults, she is fed up with what she sees as Hani’s lazy ways, her ingratitude and her disrespect.

Hani also wants to see a change in their relationship – she thinks her big sister takes her frustrations about the way they were raised by their parents out on her and is irritated by her constant nagging.

Neither of these city girls has any experience of the outdoors, of being away from their phones or their beauty products, so life in the wild comes as a shock.

Bear sets them a problem-solving challenge, which they must tackle in a pouring rainstorm and a tough physical test of resilience and teamwork.

Tempers flare around the campfire, and mediator Dave takes the sisters to task over their constant bickering and put-downs. Can they learn to appreciate each other's strengths and be kinder to each other? And will they be able to make it through a night sleeping out in the forest?
