30 minutes of classical inspiration
Half an hour of back to back classical music, including works by Ravel, Holst, Rachmaninov, Satie, Ruth Gipps and William Grant Still.
30 minutes of back to back classical music to help you wind down at the end of a busy day. Today's sequence opens with a Pavane by Ravel and a beautiful setting of an Indian hymn by Holst. The rich baritone voice of Dmitri Hvorostovsky yearns for love in a song by Rachmaninov, echoed by an orchestral song by Ruth Gipps. The The Bill Evans quartet partners a lullaby with one of Eric Satie's Gymnopedies, and the mix ends with a sweeping arrangement of Willian Grant Still's tribute to the African harp.
