After the long, dark days of winter, Monty is back at Longmeadow to celebrate spring. He kicks off the horticultural year by cutting back ornamental grasses, planting summer-fruiting raspberries and potting up dahlias.

Adam Frost has moved house and reveals his new garden – and this time, it’s a real blank canvas. Brimming with ideas, he starts by getting some trees in the ground. Arit Anderson gets exclusive access behind the scenes at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, where they do vital work in conserving endangered plants from all over the world.

There’s a couple in Carmarthenshire preparing to take some of their prized early-flowering alpines to compete at a show. Plus a visit to a tropical garden in rural Kent, created partly for its owners but mainly for their much-loved canine companions.
