Debussy's Pell茅as et M茅lisande
A dreamlike tale of love and fate, wrapped in Debussy鈥檚 hypnotic harmonies. This performance with the 麻豆社 Scottish Symphony Orchestra brings Debussy鈥檚 astonishing score to life.
鈥淪he was such a quiet creature, wrapped in mystery as we all are鈥︹ In an ancient castle by a darkening sea, the princess M茅lisande falls in love 鈥 and unlocks passions as deadly as they are beautiful. Moving, mysterious and heartbreakingly gorgeous, Debussy鈥檚 opera is woven from delicate emotions and violent rage; from sorrow entwined with wonder, and sounds so lovely that they can tear open your soul.
This concert performance with the 麻豆社 Scottish Symphony Orchestra will bring out every shimmer and sigh of Debussy鈥檚 astonishing score. Sophie Bevan and Huw Montague Rendall play the tragic lovers, heading a cast of singers who know and love this music from the inside out.
