Classical music for your journey
Take time out with a 30-minute soundscape of classical music including works by Handel, Sibelius and Nadia Boulanger.
In tonight's Classical Mixtape, we begin with the beautiful Adagio from Bach’s 1st Brandenburg concerto, which is followed by Sibelius’ Berceuse for violin and piano. There’s also a movement from John Ireland’s A Downland Suite for brass band and Richard Rodney Bennett’s choral work These Three. Elgar’s Carissima for small orchestra precedes an arrangement of Nadia Boulanger’s Cantique for voice and piano played by the Jess Gillam Ensemble, and we finish with Handel’s Ombra Mai Fu.
Producer: Kevin Satizabal Carrascal.
