He Fought the Fight
Exploring the emotional journey of returning a photograph of 21-year-old Royal Welsh Fusilier Private John Pritchard to its final home at the Welsh Fusiliers Museum in Caernarfon Castle.
Documentary exploring the emotional journey of returning a photograph of Private John Pritchard (a 21-year-old Royal Welsh Fusilier) to its final home at the Welsh Fusiliers Museum in Caernarfon Castle.
Through Ruth, who has inherited the portrait and is preparing to pass it on, the film reflects on heritage, sacrifice and remembrance. Ruth traces the story about discovering the places connected with John in Bryn Du, on the Isle of Anglesey, and uncovers his life and service through family memories and historical context while drawing a poignant parallel between Ruth鈥檚 own 17-year-old son and the young soldier John once was.
The journey culminates in the act of honouring John among his comrades, inviting viewers to consider what it means to be a hero and how we keep their stories alive.
